Steal Chef Karen’s secrets to flawless Sicilian cuisine as she guides you through a 5 course menu. Chef Karen has 19 years of experience as a culinary instructor and she’s skilled at creating a fun and informative classroom experience.

The meal starts with pasta in a decadent eggplant, tomato, and basil pesto, followed by crostini topped with fresh tomatoes and capers. Create luscious fried cauliflower fritters and a Palermo-style salad with caramelized onions and agrodolce vinaigrette. The meal ends with sweet pillowy little almond biscuits.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I have been a personal chef, caterer, and culinary instructor in the greater Seattle area for 19 years. In 1995, I started teaching classes to anyone who wants to learn and I love to teach. There are few things I like seeing more than the look in someones eyes when they "get it". I enjoy helping people learn the skills to take care of themselves, and loved ones, in the most simple and profound way with food. Food is an international language which everyone speaks.

Chef Karen clearly loves to teach and she is a fountain of information. We learned to make simple crostini and then nibbled on them as we prepared crunchy cauliflower fritters - golden brown and yummy. Next we made fusili with a delicious fresh pesto and then Palermo salad with melt-in-your mouth potatoes. We finished up with almond biscuits that were crunchy and delicious. Can't wait to repeat these recipes at home for my friends.

I had always wanted to book a cooking class with my girlfriend and cozymeal exceeded expectations. It was an all around fantastic experience. From learning about different minerals in food and how important the right ingredients are to cooking a delicious food. Our class was with Chef Karen, who is a very colorful person and made the whole experience of preparing the food lots of fun. We will definitely try it again and book another cooking class.
