Learn Chef James’ secrets to creating polpettini fit for dinner at Nonna’s.

This hands-on cooking class will teach you Chef James’ flawless method for creating perfect meatballs and a phenomenal multi-course meal to accompany it. Chef James is passionate and enthusiastic with a love for Italian cuisine and an appreciation for locally sourced ingredients.

Begin with antipasti followed by a fresh salad made with crisp, seasonal greens. Then, create succulent polpettini slowly simmered in a homemade ragu made with San Marzano tomatoes served over a bed of bucatini pasta and Parmigiana Reggiano. For dessert, Chef James will show you how to make la quesada, a dish reminiscent of cheesecake and flan, paired with local berries.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Unlike many other meatballs in the restaurant, the savoury tradition meatball dish that we had with James was authentic and made from very fresh ingredients (only the best) that makes it extremely enjoyable - one that you cannot miss if you haven’t already tried it. It leaves a lasting impression on our stomach and minds; we constantly crave for more. At the end, we had the most tasteful blueberry cheesecake that we thoroughly enjoyed. Beyond the food quality, James is a very down-to-earth person who is knowledgeable in his expertise and is warm, patient and friendly. These attributes contributed to our very fun-filled cooking class. He was also very thoughtful in the dinner set up with the candles and music which made the ambience very pleasant and romantic (you could even think of it as a candlelit dinner in the comfort of your own home) I would love to come back to the cooking class with him when I am back to San Francisco, I think our flight of 15 hours from Singapore is all worth it. Bravo to Chef James! I will highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dinner party or just a private cooking class! He is THE Chef you are looking for. Too good to say good bye !
