What You’ll Do

Learn the secrets behind fine French dining by creating five decadent courses.

French cuisine is known for its decadent flavors, and now you can learn the techniques to craft these rich recipes. Chef Derrick will guide you through a luxurious menu in this engaging cooking class.

You will start by learning how to make a classic French onion soup with savory beef stock and creamy gruyère cheese. Then, you'll learn a French favorite, coq au vin — chicken and fresh vegetables braised in a bold red wine — and craft two vegetable-focused side dishes. An indulgent crème brûlée will be dessert.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

OMG - Wonderful! We enjoyed the experience with another couple. We knew it would be fun but were not prepared for how exquisite the food would taste. To have someone of Chef Derrick’s pedigree come to our house and prepare that meal on a Saturday night was a total privilege. It is only due to his unique (and impressive) day job as an executive chef that he would be available. We learned so many cooking tips too. Plus Derrick has a wonderful, polite and humble personality.

We enjoyed our evening with Chef Derrick very much. Derrick was very personable and explained the French Cuisine dinner from the prep to the cooking to the plating very well. Giving us useful tips along the way for even our everyday cooking. The dinner itself was very tasteful and satisfying. Chef Derrick brought everything to our kitchen from all the food to everything to cook it with. Looking forward to recreating the dish in the future, but probably not as well as Chef Derrick. Next time when we invite Chef Derrick over we'll have some friends join us. Thanks Cozymeal and Chef Derrick!!
