From coastal to inland dishes, get a taste of traditional Mexican street cuisine.
In this interactive cooking class with Chef Catalina, you'll learn all about new ingredients and techniques as you prepare classic street food from various regions of Mexico.
First, Chef Catalina will teach you how to make esquites—sweet corn-off-the-cob loaded with cotija cheese and chili powder—and al pastor street tacos with homemade tortillas and pineapple salsa, a Mexican staple. From the coastal regions of Mexico, you'll prepare cóctel de camarones, or a Mexican shrimp cocktail, with tangy lime and homemade tortilla chips. For dessert, comforting churros with Mexican hot chocolate.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Chef Catalina attended college for cultural anthropology where she first worked in catering and discovered her passion for food. After school, she continued to follow this passion and hone her craft in the kitchen. With expansive experience in the industry from serving as lead cook and managing catering to managing special events and working as a cheese monger, Chef Catalina now enjoys instructing group cooking classes.
