What You’ll Do

Learn how to make a savory, traditional Italian Easter dish from professional chef, Daniel.

In this interactive online cooking class, Chef Daniel will teach you how to make a delicious Easter pie like those found in Abruzzo, Italy—as well as hazelnut truffles. You'll begin by making the pie crust for your Easter pie, followed by preparing the rich filling of sausage, mozzarella, and spinach. As you cook, you will have opportunities to ask Chef Daniel for pointers or advice. Then, while your pie is baking, you will learn how to make rich hazelnut truffles dusted with sea salt.

1 9-inch springform cake pan

Prep Work Details

To be done the nIght before class: Pulse the flour, butter, and salt in a food processor until the mixture turns to a rough, sand-like texture. Add the egg and pulse 3 or 4 times until the pastry comes together. Transfer onto a worktop and gently bring together into a ball. Split dough into 2 disks: One with 3/4 of the dough (will serve as the bottom of your pie crust), and the other with the last quarter (will serve as the top of your pie crust). Wrap with plastic wrap and put let sit in the fridge overnight.
