What You’ll Do

Learn to harness the explosion of flavors bursting from traditional Thai dishes with Chef Joni.

Let Chef Joni guide you through coordinating a colorful array of fresh ingredients and synchronizing the succulent, umami flavors that bring Thai food to life. For the most authentic Thai creations, Chef Joni utilizes three components in this class: knife skills, specialty ingredients, and flavor building.

The class begins with miang kham, a traditional Thai appetizer consisting of stuffed spinach leaves. For the main course, choose between a classic tom kha soup, pad Thai or pad see ew with your choice of tofu, chicken or shrimp. End on a sweet note with a velvety smooth mango sticky rice.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Mostly a self-taught cook, she has completed nutrition and culinary programs, has trained in group dynamics, and has cooked with chefs in Marrakesh, Italy and the Bay Area. Chef Joni co-wrote Dave Asprey's first Bulletproof cookbook, and was named Best Personal Chef in Silicon Valley by the SanFranMagazine.

Chef Joni was exceptional. She was a patient and creative teacher. Our whole group really enjoyed the experience, including our teenagers. It was fun and I would recommend it as a gift and unique, edifying and fun experience for anyone!

We had a wonderful Thai cooking class with Chef Joni for my husband's birthday. She made it a really special occasion. The recipes were delicious, and she gave us a lot of great tips on where to buy ingredients and how to make the dishes at home. Her cooking studio was perfectly set up for the class. Would highly recommend!
