What You’ll Do

Craft a few staples of Japanese cuisine with a modern twist.

Get an authentic taste of Japanese fare with contemporary touches in this engaging cooking class, where Chef John will teach you smart techniques to craft dishes from fresh ingredients.

You'll begin the class by slicing up a cucumber salad with tangy dressing made from rice vinegar and soy sauce. Next, bread a pork cutlet for crispy-fried tonkatsu served with steamed rice and a Japanese spinach salad, and make musubi with savory Spam, seaweed and rice. For dessert, you'll bake black sesame cookies flavored with almond and chocolate chips.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
