Cooking Class - Classic Cajun Fare From the Bayou

What You’ll Do

Prepare a hearty Cajun-spiced meal from the bounty of the bayou.

Prepare and savor an authentic Louisiana meal in this hands-on cooking class with Chef James. You'll learn all about the history and utility of the "holy trinity" in Cajun cuisine as you craft the ultimate pot of gumbo.

Start with a big simmering pot of gumbo made with chicken, andouille sausage and plenty of Cajun spice followed by bone-in pork chops smothered in mushroom-thyme gravy. A side of buttermilk mashed potatoes and Southern cooked greens make it a well-rounded meal. Finally, learn how to make Cajun bread pudding with cinnamon and a hint of whiskey.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
