What You’ll Do

Learn to make simple, yet elegant Japanese comfort food with Chef Melissa.

In this interactive cooking class, Chef Melissa will teach you how to make three classic Asian comfort foods. She will be your guide as you learn new skills and techniques in order to put together these stunning dishes.

First, whip up a popular Japanese street food known as okonomiyaki, which is a savory pancake piled high with toppings. Then, prepare a yellow miso-mustard broth and use it to cook the ramen, adding sushi-grade scallops, which Chef Melissa sources from the renowned Hokkaido region in Japan, which benefits from nutrient and plankton-rich water. Finally, make a stack of matcha crГЄpes topped with ice cream.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Melissa is a very engaging and interesting host. She also was very organized and we each had our own tasks. She integrated some knife skills and information about the ingredients and how to prepare them. The food was incredible but was surprisingly simple to prepare.
