What You’ll Do

Greek food is typical of the highly-regarded Mediterranean diet and wins on every level.

Greek fare is healthy, delicious and makes use of fresh ingredients. In this hands-on class with Chef Shailini, you will learn how to prepare a four-course menu of classic Greek dishes that utilize only the freshest and most wholesome ingredients.

Chef Shailini will begin by teaching you how to prepare a batch of traditional flaky and crispy oven-baked spinach and feta hand pies called spanakopita. For your entrГ©e, you will learn how to build layers upon layers of flavor to create a hearty eggplant casserole topped with a luscious bГ©chamel sauce lauded as the epitome of Greek comfort food.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious. Chef Shailini also does a great deal of volunteer work.

Loved this class!! The atmosphere was relaxed, the recipes well thought out and delicious, the preparation she did was perfect - allowing us to do just the right amount of work. Then, the best part was getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor by sitting down with the other guests and Shailini. She is pro at teaching, cooking, and hosting. A trifecta of cooking class success!

This was a fabulous class. Not only did I love every dish prepared but we were given tips that were easy and super helpful. I can truly say I would make every dish taught. Another benefit was that the dishes were beautifully flavored without being spicy or overly seasoned. This helps pleasing everyone in a group with different tolerances. Bravo!
