We made homemade pasta with tomato sauce and panna cotta. I received this as a gift from my daughter to perfect my panna cotta skills. It was a delightful way to spend a snowy evening. Davide was fabulous! He gave clear directions and walked us through each step. He has a great personality for teaching & was funny and witty. I enjoyed a few laughs. Just canâ€™t say enough positive about this fantastic lesson. Food was delicious and I finally know the secret to a great panna cotta. Win win!

Today I made homemade fettuccini, homemade basil marinara, and homemade panna cotta! I canâ€™t even begin to explain how simple and WONDERFUL this experience was! Chef was thorough, calm, and precise with his instructions! It moved like a symphony in perfect tune!!! I wish I were able to recommend this class to EVERYONE! If leaving this review is all I can do, I give it 15 out of 10 stars!!! This class has given me the confidence to up my personal cooking to another level! THANK YOU CHEF for everything today! My wife literally cried when she tried my Panna cotta!!! All because YOU taught me how!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! This was the GREATEST Christmas gift I could have possibly received!!! We made ravioli and fetuccini and in general, I thought the class was great and would love to take another one. I do think there's some room for improvement though. The chef was great about repeating instructions several times, which is good when you're reaching for ingredients or measuring or watching what you're doing. BUT... in when you're actually in the process of doing any of these things, it's easy to miss SEEING what/how the chef is doing it. I'd recommend suggesting to everyone in the instructions before the class starts, to have everything measured out, to have tools laid out, etc. so that it's easier to pay attention to what the chef is doing. The class also moves VERY quickly, so slowing it down just a bit might be helpful too. Other than that, it was great and I look forward to taking another class!

This was my first virtual cooking class, and it lived up to expectations. Chef Davide was engaging and patient. It was impressive how he was able to give us guidance with our dish throughout the entire experience. WE cooked vegetable stock, risotto, and gelato. Everything turned out pretty good and Chef explained it pretty well. Not to mention was patient while waiting on everyone to get to the same point in the recipe. Only down side was that the recipe we were provided didn't quite match the recipe that we used, so it was hard to prepare for that. However, it didn't really detract from anything. Favorite moment, of course, came at the end when we tried all of our food. It was delicious and I would recommend anyone try this.

I definitely learned a lot this class, it is very much recommended! We learned how to make pasta and a delicious sauce. The chef was very kind and funny! We made fresh ravioli and ricotta cheese and fettuccini with a tomato and basil sauce. Davide was calm and prepared, and led confidently. The 90-min class went by quickly and we had a lot of fun learning throughout the class. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars was because some of the recipes were designed for 1-person, and others were designed for 2-people. This created a lot of scrambling for me during a jam-packed 90-min class, trying to ensure each dish was enough for 2-people. I also wish I would have been informed on how thin the pasta should be before cutting/preparing. My pasta was way to think and nearly inedible. The sauces were fantastic.

Chef Davide was fantastic! I probably should not have prepped quite as much as I did, as he was quite thorough in making sure everyone was following along. I did feel a little rushed on the cooking- my burners did not get as hot as quickly as I think was expected, so the Panna Cotta did not get to the heat point that I think it needed to be at before putting into containers. I also think the pasta should have cooked a bit more, as it seemed al dente unless that was the dough not being rolled thin enough. I would definitely invest in a Kitchen Aid attachment to make pasta if I were to do this again!

Chef Davide was very organized, engaging, and I love how he had an Italian accent! He was still very easy to understand and follow throughout the class. He did seem to speed up just slightly toward the end - thankfully, we had everything measured and prepped in bowls prior to the class (HIGHLY recommend that - there is no way you'd be able to keep up if it wasn't all measured out). The final dish (risotto) was also absolutely delicious!

Hi, culinary school has been a dream, working in a restaurant has not been. Lol For this class, i will say... i almost ate all the ravioli filling on its own. The flavor and taste is there. I've tried to make pasta twice on my own. The recipe that Chef Davide gives you is close to the same as what you can going online in terms of making pasta dough. But he can advise you on how to kneed and roll it. I'll be honest, I've tried a few times using an online video with a kitchenmade. My dough is always been super chewy. Rolling pasta dough is kind of an art. I definitely think. I took this class and I honestly know I'm over rolling. Chef Davide was around to stop me from making taffy. No joke. My pasta was not perfect, but it was much closer to fresh pasta, and much better than dry past. That's for sure. Plus the filling for the ravioli and the tomato sauce were really good. Thanks for your experise... I will try again, as art takes practice.

This turned into a fantastic non traditional wedding shower. The family is scattered all over the US. Both of my sons one with wife and kids and one with the bride cooked from their homes and I had the ladies club introduced to the new family members. Lots of laughter as we learned new skills. Great way to make a new family memory. I'm thinking of doing this once a year with the family since we all had such a good time. Also, yes at times Chef Davide goes too fast. Chef Davide is wonderful. This was my 2nd class with him and the food is delicious. I had technical difficulties in getting on the zoom call due to being given the wrong code by cozymeal, so I missed some of the class. The risotto and gelato class has a lot of steps, so it may be challenging for beginners to get everything done in time. Chef Davide's pasta making class is less complex. But in both classes, the food was great.

We had such a nice visit with Chef Davide. He taught us some things that made him smile and chuckle like I always wanted to know how to crack an egg open using only one hand! I will leave a tip happily but I want to save money for our next private class. Delaney, told me that what we made was vegetarian not vegan, the 9 year old seems to know the difference! She is a natural from birth vegetarian. She doesn't like tomatoes so next class we will try to leave that out if that is possible in Italian cooking! The class was excellent. Chef Davide was clear from the outset how long each recipe was going to take. During each step, he was very good at keeping the group together, checking with each of us through every stage to make sure we were in compliance with his direction. He was careful to repeat the steps to ensure that we understood just what was expected of us. It was our first class with Cozymeal (and with Davide) and we enjoyed it very much. Davide is wonderful! He makes cooking the dishes easy and fun. He keeps you entertained and provides lots of information. The food was incredibly delicious as well. The only thing I would change is the 2 vanilla Gelato's were just a little too sweet for us, so if you can find some less sweet condensed milk we would suggest that (we used eagle brand). The chocolate was perfect because the bitter cocoa powder balanced it.

Our one suggestion is to have more clarity up front about the equipment and prep you need to do before the class. Recipes and instructions said to prep and chop all ingredients beforehand, but Chef walked us through that together, which was better! That being said, we will definitely do it again!

Excellent class! Chef Davide explained everything very thoroughly. His directions were easy to follow, and time flew by! It does help to have everything measured out before hand, as you start with one of the recipes, and while that one is cooking, then you go to another recipe, etc. Save several cooked shrimp (one per person) for the end. You put one shrimp on each persons plate of risotto at the end, before serving. All three dishes (including the homemade gelato) were delicious. Highly recommend this class! Thank you, Chef Davide!

What a fun night! Chef Davide was not only clear and patient with his instruction, but was also entertaining and humorous! We had a wonderful time cooking with Chef Davide. As long as you have your ingredients prepared in advance you'll be able to follow along. Chef Davide helped with ingredient substitutions during our event. He explained how substitutions could altar flavor or textures. Very helpful. I appreciate the accommodations made for the vegetarians in our group and the flexibility of adding panna cotta. We enjoyed our meal and dessert. We wish that we were able to take a group photo (screenshot) but we ended so quickly. This was our first experience and will not be the last. Thank you!

We enjoyed the pasta making class. Chef Davide explained every step in a simple and fun way. He made sure everyone was following. He answered questions and guided each one of us. I used the pasta maker machine but he will teach you how to cut the pasta using your knife. I will definitely recommend this class and I will be taking more classes with chef Davide

This was our 3rd class with Chef Davide and, as always, it was a wonderful experience. Chef Davide has the perfect combination of being fun and friendly and keeping everyone on task. He explains and demonstrates everything very clearly and gives plenty of opportunity for us to ask questions or show our work for guidance if needed. The dishes are always awesome. This class was wonderful! I love food that is eaten seasonally, and I love how the classes center around this principle. The pumpkin risotto was so light and delicious and the bruschetta was out of this world. I couldn't stop eating it, i wish i had leftovers lol You will always walk out of one of Chef Davide's classes with a tool in your chefs hat that you didn't have prior. You not only learn an amazing dish, but I love the attention to detail, presentation and thought that this chef puts into all of his dishes. I have taken this chef's other class before and cant recommend them enough. This is a perfect autumn and holiday meal :)

Wonderful! This class was a gift for my husband's 38th birthday because he loves to cook. This was our first time using Cozymeal and Chef Davide gave a great class. My husband made risotto before and it didn't come out the way he wanted. Today he learned how to do it right and it tasted great! This was more than just a cooking class it was an IMMERSIVE experience, into an authentic Italian atmosphere in all senses of the word. Chef Davide transports you from the start of class into a visual world through photos of the region where he is cooking, and then inspires you through light atmospheric music, while he cooks with you on this journey together. I was having so much fun, in between rolling Raffaello with coconut, and flipping my pan in between with rice, and waiting for it to slowly come back( a technique you learn from his class), the class seemed to fly by. Every part of the experience was immersive and his technique is flawless. He gives you ample time to finish each section so you never feel rushed. He reminds you to relax and enjoy the process, and his radiant positivity encourages you along the way. If you are looking for a true night out, or I should I say in, then look no further. You will learn technique, plating, process, and all the while just having fun and enjoying the time. Thank you chef! you were awesome !

I requested a private cooking event (virtual) for me and my three friends as a birthday celebration. Chef Davide was fantastic! Although it was virtual (he was LIVE from Italy!!!) it was as if he was right there with us. He even made us show him our product as we were cooking to ensure we were successful. The meal that we preparerd was delicious! It was helpful when Davide would look at our cooking process, to see if it was ready or if we needed to cook/whip longer. It was a good paced class and enjoyed his style of teaching. Things to be improved: - when using the word "WHIP", it means with a mixer - tell what size of containers to put the gelato in - explain that the Shrimp Bisque was going to be used to make the Risotto and that it was not a meal with in itself

Chef Davide led us through an intimate cooking class to make homemade pasta, sauce and raviolis. This was my first time doing something like this and we had a ton of fun! Chef Davide was sure to be clear about the ingredients and directions. He checked on us through each step and was able to give individual feedback to help us along (especially me when I struggled with my sticky dough!). Be prepared for a bit of a mess, but be more prepared to thoroughly enjoy your food & time with Chef Davide!

My first class and it was very good. My only comment is that trying to complete 4 different recipes is challenging for someone's first on-line class and first attempt at making pasta dough. This is compounded if you are attempting to cook for 4 people. Perhaps an introduction to making pasta dough would be a good suggestion for newcomers. Chef Davide was wonderful and did a remarkable job leading the class.

My girlfriend and I have always wanted to hand-make pasta and this was the perfect class to learn how. Chef Davide gives very clear instructions and lets you know what steps to focus on the most. He checks in with you regularly to see your progress and is very encouraging. The ravioli filling we made was so simple and yet it was one of the best we've ever had! Chef Davide also does a great job of placing you in the moment with him in his small Italian village, giving you the history of the place while you cook. He was thorough and interactive which was a huge plus. We have made this pasta again on our own with great success. I 100% intend to take all of the other classes that he offers! (I only wish that I could take them in Italy!)

Chef Davide was great! He gave great instructions to help modify if there was one or two or 4 people attending. He added special tricks....like as soon as you see the garlic have the first bubble in the oil, remove or it will be bitter. He also let us personalize our flavors, from the herbs in the butter to the testing of the ravioli filling and how to adjust. Thank you--I'm looking forward to our next class together!

This was such a fun session - Chef Davide's class format was engaging, the recipe was incredible (those meatballs!) and the background information on the wines, areas of Italy, etc. were also interesting. Chef Davide gave me more feedback and tips on how to make pasta from scratch than any course I've ever taken. It was the first time my own pasta actually turned out and tasted fantastic! Thank you. My retirement was supposed to involve travel and cooking classes, starting first with Italy! Unfortunately, that won't happen for awhile yet. This was the next best thing. The only minor comment I would have is whether Cozymeal could start indicating the length of the classes. This one was 2.5 hours, which was fine with me and, yes, I agree cooking should be a slow, rather sensory, process. But knowing it upfront would have helped me plan the day better. Minor comment from me...... it certainly does NOT detract from the overall experience! Thank you Chef Davide.

My husband and I enjoyed our class very much. The food was delicious and the online instruction with the chef was fantastic. He provided real time feedback to each person in the class which was a great way to learn. The ingredients list slightly differed from the recipe that is provided after purchase, so make sure to buy your class prior to shopping so that you get the accurate ingredients (ie tomato sauce listed initially in class description and diced tomatoes listed in actual recipe). The chef prepares food for one person but is very clear about what you need to do to prepare food for more than one person which is very helpful. It would be nice if he prepared food for two to slow him down just a little as it is easy to fall behind if you are preparing food for two people. Definitely make sure you have prepared all of your ingredients ahead of time as suggested. This was a great class. I would highly recommend it.

I purchased this class as a birthday gift for my lovely boyfriend Eric (a couple reviews below mine), and, since we are currently socially distanced from one another, I figured it would be fun if I signed up as well. I wasn't exactly sure how this would pan out over zoom, but it turned out to be so much fun! Davide was pleasantly upbeat, witty, helpful, and made it easy to follow along. Even though my dough was insistent on remaining sticky, with a bit of guidance, it finally cooperated and made for some delicious pasta. Being transported from NYC to Italy for a couple of hours was a wonderful and tasty way to spend a Sunday afternoon! *As some other reviews have mentioned, I would definitely suggest prepping everything in advance, including having your pots and pans out and ready to use.

I did find it a bit confusing to have the ingredients listed separately for the dishes but we were supposed to use all of one to make the pasta so I ended up with 1/2 the pasta and a bowl of unused flour due to that. It would also be helpful to get a list of the equipment needed. I didnâ€™t have the right sauce pan. The same happened to a friend of mine in the class. We would do it again. It was as fun and the food ended up being very good.

I had a team event with Chef Davide today and it was such a lovely experience! He gave lots of greats tips for making a successful tiramisu and risotto and I found him easy to follow along. My favorite part of the class was him showing us his garden where he picks peppers and fresh herbs to use and the sunset that was happening in Italy! He was patient, answered everyone's questions, and was very encouraging. Super fun and I can't wait to recreate what I learned.

My brother and I had so much fun!! Chef Davide took the time to look at each participants work to be sure we would have a positive outcome. I know it would take a couple of extra minutes, but Iâ€™d love to know where the others in the class were from. It would take a minute to start out and each person say where they are zooming from. It helps too if you have one other person with you writing down some of Chefâ€™s tips and steps not included in the recipe. In this class, you fold the dough and slam it down some in the process and thatâ€™s not in the printed recipe. Helps to have that second person too to help clean up the broken bowl that may shatter when you slam that dough down just a little too much! It was an experience Iâ€™d do again! So much fun and delicious!!

Chef David's class was a lot of fun for my family. He was patient and down to earth and gave great tips. The food was excellent and we learned new techniques. My only suggestion would be to have more accurate ingredients beforehand with measurements so that we don't have to scramble last minute or buy stuff that we don't end up using (I had spinach measured and washed and a lot of extra ricotta cheese are directed but we didn't end up using it).

We recently took a team building cooking class with Chef Davide and had a lovely time. It was amazing to learn authentic Italian cuisine from a chef who is actually from Italy. He also gave us a tour of his herb garden and it just added to the experience. I would highly recommend any class with Chef Davide as you will have a great time and learn a lot about Italian history, cuisine, etc.

I received this class as a Christmas gift. It was my first Cozymeal class. Overall disappointed in the class. 1) The audio was terrible. I had my laptop on full volume and it was impossible to hear without my ear to the speaker (which is not helpful when you are trying to cook along). I eventually dialed in on my phone, and the audio was louder but marginally better quality. I use zoom daily for work. 2) The pace of the class was way too fast. I had my ingredients prepped, and recipes printed. If not for the printed recipes, I would have been absolutely lost. We finished the class in 1 hr 10 min (was supposed to be 1 hr 30 min) rather abruptly and this time could have been spent going at a normal pace. There was mention of a break, but I donâ€™t think we ever had it. 3) Overall, low quality experience. Chef Davide demonstrated with representative ingredients. For example, he had a few meager vegetables in his pot (not the two onions, two carrots and two potatoes that we were prescribed). He also said to add the amount and then proceeded to eyeball it and dump from the rice container. I got the feeling I was watching Chef Davide cook from his small apartment - it appeared he was in a small corner of a room, with some floating shelves with spices behind him, and a table and hot plate. With his earbuds and probably his phone mounted as a camera, I question the authenticity of him being a chef at this point. 4) The printed recipes were incomplete, but given the full information they are quite simple. The risotto was quite bland, and Iâ€™m a bland diet kind of person. We didnâ€™t add any of the vegetables from our broth (guess we were supposed to throw them out?) and so it was pretty plain. Thankfully my breadcrumbs were from cinnamon raisin bread and that gave it some flavor. The gelato was also nothing special - I have made homemade ice cream many times, and this was rather primitive. Is sweetened condensed milk authentic to Italian Gelato?

Chef didn't attend. I think one of the main issues is the CozyMeal displays its time in US timezones not the timezone of the user or chef. If this was the case I'm sure the issue wouldn't have occurred.

Do I be honest? Heâ€™s kind of typical stereotype young Italian male with that youthful aire of arrogance without the life experience to carry it. I loved how a seemingly complex menu was simplified and done quickly. But you have to know the entire experience. The meal wasnâ€™t exactly as it implies. The bisque is something you have to go on and complete on your own. I booked the same day of the class and purchased groceries that were needed. Upon entering the virtual class there was an awkward dialogue where the instructor explained that the system double booked this lessonâ€¦okayâ€¦with a full bag of fresh groceriesâ€¦ummmmâ€¦then suddenly the other party cuts into the discussion (oh, hi there?) and says that they would be okay if I stayed. Okay. Sureâ€¦ (?). It was just an okay lesson. From connection issues or technology issues or culinary issues with the other parties, 4 different meal preparations going on at once, trying to be upbeat throughout. And a bit of the Italian attitude. Dude. Londonâ€™s culinary cuisineâ€¦? Really? We werenâ€™t talking fish and chips, so donâ€™t. I try to make the best of situations and I had these other ladies laughing and we were sipping wine (I really tried) and it was just okay. Now I get monthly reminders of this experience as I had signed up for what I thought would be a great learning opportunity now and going forward. So to be honest, the whole experience leaves me feeling unsatiated. Isnâ€™t that ironic?

Food was good but the class needs some work. It's too compressed. Not enough instructions provided ahead of time, so while the chef is sitting there with everything ready, the average consumer is not. Only have ingredients, but unpackaging, washing etc. needs to be done ahead of time. Add 30 mins. The other problem is that the chef is not cooking a realistic amount of food. He only cooks for one person, while most of the people in our class were cooking for two. This meant that we had twice as much work to do in some cases, which, added to our lesser expertise, meant that we took longer than the chef did. He had built in too little time for people to do the work. Next time, the chef should cook for two or add more time for people to finish. Class felt too rushed.
